DAY 1 – Dendara & Abydos from Safaga
Your adventure kicks off with a private air-conditioned vehicle pickup from Safaga Port. Accompanied by a knowledgeable tour guide, your day includes visits to:
Dendara Temple: Marvel at the well-preserved Dendara Temple, dating back to 54 BC. Commissioned by Ptolemy VII and Cleopatra, completed in 20 BC during the Roman era, this temple pays homage to Hathor, the Egyptian goddess of love, fertility, and music.
Abydos Temple: Explore the over 3000-year-old Abydos Temple, dedicated to Seti I. A pilgrimage destination in ancient Egypt, it became renowned for its proximity to Osiris's tomb, drawing Egyptians eager for burial near this sacred site.
After these visits, you'll be driven to Luxor for a quality lunch and check-in at a 5-star hotel for an overnight stay.
DAY 2 – Explore Luxor attractions – Back to Safaga
Following breakfast at the hotel, your guide will lead you to Luxor's historical sites:
Valley of the Kings: Discover the Valley of the Kings, home to over 60 royal burial chambers from the 18th and 19th dynasties, along with those of family members and notable nobles.
Hatshepsut Temple: Visit the Hatshepsut Temple, honoring one of Egypt’s most renowned and successful rulers, the only female pharaoh. Her reign marked a prosperous era, reflected in her exquisitely preserved mortuary temple.
Colossi of Memnon: Behold the Colossi of Memnon, two monumental statues of Amenhotep III standing guard at Luxor's entrance, each towering at 60 feet.
Enjoy a delightful lunch at a renowned restaurant, then proceed to:
Karnak Temple: Conclude your tour at the Karnak Temple, dating back to 2055 BC, a complex featuring chapels, temples, and various structures. Primarily a cult temple dedicated to the gods Amun, Khonsu, and Mut, Karnak stands as a testament to ancient Egyptian architecture.
After this enriching day, you'll be transferred back to Safaga, concluding your mesmerizing 2-day journey through Luxor, Dendara, and Abydos.
